Location
Iran comprises a land area of over 1
. 6 million square Km (the 17th country in the world by
land area). It is located in south west of Asia and is
one of the middle-east countries. Iran lies down the
northern temperate zone, between latitudes 25 degree
north and 39 degree 47' north and between longitude 44
degree 02' east and 63 degree 20' east.
Iran is bounded by Turkmenistan , Caspian Sea ,
Azerbaijan, and Armenia on the North , Afghanistan and
Pakistan on the East , Oman sea and Persian gulf on the
South , and Iraq and Turkey on the West . Totally Iran
has a border of 8731 kms of which 2700 kms go for water
borders and 6031 kms for land borders .
Coasts
Islamic Republic of Iran's coastal lines include 700 km
long strip by the Caspian sea in the north and 2000
km long coastal strip in Persian Gulf, in the south,
extending from the Arvand river by the Iraqi border
all the way to the Indian ocean via the Oman sea,
thus exposing Iran to an overall 2700 km of
strategically significant coast line with unique
natural features.

Flag
The flag of Iran
was officially adopted on July
29, 1980. The colors of the flag
date to the mid-18th century;
green represents Islam; white
represents peace, and red means
courage.
The centered symbol is said to
symbolize the five principles of
Islam. According to sources, the
white stylized script on the red
and green panels, repeated 22
times, is the Islamic phrase
Allahu Akbar, meaning "God is
greater than to be described. "
The centered sword is
representative of the country's
strength.
Climate and Weather

climate : cold and humid in cold
seasons , in summer time dry
with moderate temperature.

temperature and humidity, with
hot summer and moderate winter.
- The eastern and southern climate
: desert climate in which there
are extreme differences in daily
temperature ranges.
